Breakfast in bed and snuggling up with a romantic film, two of the most attractive options for couples this Valentines Day. With many couples opting for weekend breaks or expensive meals, keep things simple and romantic by spending quality time together in your television bed watching a movie with your perfect partner.
But how do you go about choosing what you watch? Well, unless you’re both fanatics of explosions, Die Hard is out of the equation, but you can’t go wrong with a good rom com. As I say, choosing one can be particularly difficult, trying to reach a compromise as to the one you both want to watch. Let us take the strain out of the issue, by giving you three of our favourite romantic comedies, leaving you the job of popping down to the rental shop and putting it in the DVD player. (But don’t forget the red roses!)
The names Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman put in the same film credits just spell success, and No Strings Attached is no exception. The pair begin a purely physical relationship, only to find that the pair of them want to make things more permanent. Kutcher is at his hilarious best, and Portman shows that she’s more than the star of Black Swan and Star Wars, really putting on a fantastic performance. Hilarious rom com action that will have you both in hysterics.
They should have teamed up much sooner, because the ratings went through the roof when Jennifer Aniston joined forces with Adam Sandler in Just Go With It. With Aniston pretending to be his wife, Sandler avoids committing to his girlfriend by hiding behind the whole “already married” thing. Until, his current girlfriend asks to meet his wife. Anyway, as you can probably imagine with Adam Sandler, things tend to swing from going well to the horrendous and back again, so you’re guaranteed a lot of laughs waiting to see how this love triangle plays out.
The stunning Anne Hathaway stars alongside Jim Sturgess in One Day. A film about two college graduates who get together, and then the audience keep coming back on the same date each year to see how their relationship is going. Let’s be honest, with Anne Hathaway involved, who wouldn’t want to give it a watch?
